Our work
Benposta's actions in Colombia are in line with its fundamental objectives, which are to respond directly to specific situations of children and adolescents in a process of restoration of rights and to influence national and international public policies in order to promote actions that will enable them to fulfill their role as subjects within the framework of constitutional guarantees. In the current period, the Three-Year Plan 2020-2022, these lines of action respond both to the situation in which Colombia finds itself and to the challenges to be faced in the expected phase of implementation of the agreements signed in the negotiations between the national government and the Farc-EP.
Methodologie
The direct and active participation of children and young people in the design and management of each of the activities that make up the "educational community" is one of the fundamental principles of pedagogical practice, which establishes dialogue and tolerance as a fundamental element in their process of social and personal growth.
Program strategy (2020 - 2022)
Benposta's global institutional action in Colombia is reflected in his "programmatic action", which is described in the following lines of action:
These three components are part of the programmatic nature of Benposta and correspond to its founding objectives, which are aimed at responding directly to specific situations of children and adolescents in the process of restoring their rights and influencing national and international public policies in order to generate actions that enable children and adolescents to assume their role as subjects within the framework of constitutional guarantees. These lines of action respond both to the situation in which Colombia finds itself and to the challenges to be met in the expected post-agreement phase. Unfortunately, the risks associated with the actions of armed groups, to which children and adolescents in Colombia are exposed in the post-Agreement phase, not only persist but have actually increased. In this context, Benposta considers it necessary to maintain and strengthen its institutional action plan, which includes as fundamental elements:a.- Strengthen the institutional capacity to integrate children and adolescents who need protective measures in emergencies outside their regions of origin in their education headquarters (Bogotá). b.- Develop actions aimed at strengthening local capacities in the regions through the "network of protected environments; c.- Strengthening the technical capacity of Benposta to participate in advocacy actions by placing the issue of the social and political crisis in Colombia and its impact on the rights of children and youth on the public agenda (State, civil society, international community) and by initiating processes of consultation, participation - advocacy and social inclusion of youth that are or have been part of the accompaniment - support of Benposta in all its modalities.
